Tara grew up in a joint family. A house full of hustle bustle and people was her everyday scene. While growing up, she didn’t have any photographs in her home. Hardly one or two; and those too of people who were no more. Her childhood memories were not captured in photographs. They were however embedded in her mind and heart in certain fragrances, in the way light fell in different rooms during day, in warm hugs from her Daadi, in the sounds of temple nearby and in festivities. Her whole home used to get transformed on festivals. The house looked beautiful ,spic and span, the verandah washed with fresh Rangoli adorning it and there was scents of flowers in every room. Her mom used to put marigold garlands through out the house. Her home smelled heavenly because of it. Tara used to take one marigold garland and play with it throughout the day. The soft, fluffy gendafuls made her feel like Queen. They sometimes were part of her Tiara, sometimes her bracelets and sometimes her anklets.
